IPMP
IPMP is a protocol to support active measurement of the Internet. There is an Internet draft of the protocol and implementations of the protocol for FreeBSD and Linux. The main characteristic of the protocol is a methodology that allows routers to add their address and a timestamp with very little overhead. The protocol can be implemented in either hardware or software. The original version of the protocol was specified by Tony McGregor. Most of the current work on the protocol, including both the implementations, is by Matthew Luckie.
